Daily Bread Food Bank is proud to host school groups from grade 6 and above for site visits where they learn about food insecurity, the important work food banks do and have a site tour. Our 191 New Toronto Street location is a warehouse that is a distribution hub that receives food donations and is part of the supply chain for food banks across the city. We also have an onsite food bank which serves clients daily.
We are working to provide a more robust learning experience for school groups that visit by providing a workshop along with a site tour and some volunteer activity. The workshop content is currently being developed and we are looking for volunteers with facilitation experience to lead the students through their visit. We are hoping to launch the revised program by the end of November.
School groups are usually booked on Tuesdays and the visits usually take place in the mornings.
