Leave a legacy

You live life with purpose. You are proactive about your health. You are involved in your community, and you advocate for the rights of older adults.

Creating a meaningful legacy is a continuation of the values you practice today. Including a gift to the RTOERO Foundation in your will is one way to create a significant legacy.

How to leave a legacy gift in your will

We recommend speaking with your lawyer or another professional advisor for help arranging your legacy gift and ensuring your gift gives your estate the best possible tax outcomes.

Suggested wording for your will

It’s important that the wording of your legacy gift is clear so that the executors of the will may understand the purpose of the gift. Below is some suggested wording you can use in your will:

“My estate trustees shall pay ____% of the residue of my estate (or the sum of $ ______) to The RTOERO Foundation, Toronto, ON, for the purpose of supporting all programs, with a priority for those that improve the quality of life of seniors, as determined by the Foundation.”

The RTOERO Foundation is a registered Canadian charity and can issue tax receipts.

Legal Name: RTOERO Foundation

Charitable Number: 848662110RR0001

  • Retirement plans – you can name the RTOERO Foundation as a beneficiary of your RRSP or TFSA.
  • Life insurance – you can name the RTOERO Foundation as a beneficiary or owner of your life insurance policy.
