The RTOERO Foundation is the philanthropic partner of RTOERO; an association of 85,000 members across Canada and the largest national provider of group health benefits for education sector retirees. The Foundation was initially created to fund research in the field of geriatrics and gerontology and to support projects aimed at improving the quality of life for older adults in Canada.
The RTOERO Foundation is established to raise funds for the creation of an endowed Chair in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Toronto. The inaugural position is awarded to Dr. Paula Rochon, Senior Scientist at the Women’s College Research Institute in Toronto.
