Insurance while you’re working

Some of our members are contract or casual employees in education and don’t have insurance coverage through work. Or, their employment may be ending before their retirement date because of layoffs. If you’re dealing with either of these situations, we may be able to help.

How to access our insurance when you’re still employed

The first step is to make sure you meet our eligibility criteria.

If you have no existing coverage

If you’re not currently covered under a group plan through work or a spouse’s plan, our late applicant process would apply to you.

If your existing coverage will be ending

If you are covered under a group plan but that plan will be ending, then you will apply for insurance using our regular applicant process. Make sure to apply within 60 days of your previous insurance ending for automatic approval.
