Insurance plans FAQs

What’s the difference between group insurance and individual insurance?

RTOERO’s plans are group insurance — if you have health insurance through your employer, it’s group insurance as well. Here are main differences between group and individual insurance:

  1. Group health insurance is available without a medical questionnaire provided you apply within 60 days of your previous group health insurance coverage ending.
  2. Group health insurance often includes lower premiums or better benefits because the risk to the insurer is spread across a large group.
  3. The price for group health insurance coverage is the same for all members of the group, regardless of their current health or changes with their health.
  4. You can always go from group to individual insurance with automatic acceptance. The same is not true for going from individual to group or from one individual plan to another.
