Partners Community Health (Erin Mills Pkwy & N. Sheridan Way) is a nonprofit 632-bed long-term care home in Mississauga. We are looking for volunteer Activity Assistants. Activities provide an opportunity for residents to engage in stimulating activity and build social connections – all very important for staying healthy physically, emotionally and mentally. Examples of activities include Bingo, birthday parties, cultural events, arts and crafts, movie nights and gentle exercise classes. Activity Assistant volunteers help facilitators with setting up/taking down activities, encourage residents to participate and help residents get to and from the activity space. Morning, afternoon or evening shifts available. Volunteers must be patient and enjoy spending time with seniors, have strong active listening skills and the ability to push a wheelchair.
