Maidan Market: Hub for Ukrainian Newcomers: Volunteer ESL teachers needed for Conversation Classes

We are looking for volunteer ESL teachers for our conversation circles.
ESL teaching/tutoring experience is necessary but full ESL accreditation is not required.

Volunteer teachers have access to Maidan Market’s ESL library of resources.
We do not offer training.
Volunteer teachers are expected to create their own lesson plans.

Conversation circles are in person at:
Maidan Market, Westgate Shopping Mall, 1309 Carling Ave, 1st floor.

In-person classes are:
Mondays and Thursdays, morning, afternoon and evening, 9:30 am – 8:00 pm.

Each class has 3-7 students, lasting anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours.

Some teachers teach once a week, others 2X a week but the same class of students.
Our preference is for 2Xs a week, same class of students.
Volunteer ESL teachers are asked to commit for 4 months at a time, then review.

We are looking for teachers who would focus on
CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH
and who are interested and able to build a sense of community within each classroom.
