The No More Starving Artists food rescue is a volunteer-run program redirecting corporate food surpluses via the Second Harvest platform, to local families in need.
With the support of companies including Sobeys, Farm Boy, Starbucks, Shoppers Drug Mart, Cookstown Greens, Costco, Loblaws, Zehrs, No Frills, Cobs Bread and more, we rescue food seven days a week, and serve 1200+ households each month.
To date we’ve rescued $668,555.42 worth of food, diverting 464903.58lbs of greenhouse gasses.
Recently we added a high-value daily pick up at Farm Boy, and our existing volunteers need your help to keep up with the demand.
This is an active volunteer role on site, and there are also opportunities for “drivers only” who can assist with pick ups. The ability to lift 20 lbs is required.
