A new chapter for Entente Plus: GreenShield named as next group benefits administrator     

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Entente Plus Group Insurance Program participants can expect an upgraded experience with a new online portal, mobile app and extended service hours as GreenShield becomes the new program administrator. 

GreenShield was selected following an extensive evaluation of several companies, including the current administrator. 

“In 2025, we carefully reviewed how our program is managed and issued a request for proposals to evaluate providers who do this type of work,” says John Cappelletti, Chair of the Board. “GreenShield stood out for its ability to offer modern tools and enhanced service, while maintaining the comprehensive coverage our members value.”    

The coverage and plans are not changing, and RTOERO (soon to be Entente Education Canada) continues to own and operate the Entente Plus program on a non-profit basis. The administrator is responsible for day-to-day operations, such as processing claims, maintaining service standards and providing the tools and systems that support the member experience. 

Supporting members through the transition 

A dedicated web page with background information and common questions and answers is available for members.  Between Oct. 2025 and Jan. 2026, members will receive regular updates about the transition — including: 

• New benefits card and portal setup instructions in mid-December 

• Webinars and videos to walk members through what’s new 

• Step-by-step communications by email and mail

The change in administrators comes as RTOERO prepares to adopt its new name, Entente Education Canada, in 2026. Both initiatives reflect a shared purpose — to strengthen the foundation for the future and ensure long-term value for members.
